FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

From the 24th to 25th July 2017, we were blessed with a rare opportunity of receiving a short but rich and empowering session on financial management from an experienced man, Mr Philip Mbati, who works for Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA). Through his able facilitation, we discovered the complexity of the financial world and explored accessible ways for a better management of finances and various resources of our institutions. It is true that financial dynamics are not at the reach of everyone, yet without good and sufficient knowledge of this field one cannot aspire to a successful apostolic experience. One need to know how to make proper follow-ups on revenue and expenditure, to generate funds and produce reports to competent authorities.

That is why, the facilitator informed us on how to operate Bank accounts, helped us to understand the chart of accounts, the accounting cycle and provided us with technics and tools on how to write clear and conventional financial reports. In his presentations, he kept on emphasizing on internal control as the only sure way of attaining performance. With illustrations and concrete examples, Mr Philip Mbati provided us with insight and useful data for a successful management of our resources. We therefore would like to thank Mr Philip Mbati and the organizing team of ICOF program for including this module in our program.
